Times could not be better in Molong as the town reaches a peak of growth that would excite the majority of same size rural towns across regional NSW.
Our town has so much going for it right now … new residents, growth in visitor and tourist numbers, better services for our pre-schoolers, school kids … improved Cabonne Council spending, more eateries, entertainment, shops, business growth as well as commercial activity, agribiz, vineyards and wineries, food production … the list goes on …
Yes, we are a clever and progressive community … creative to the core … so, why are we not jumping up and down to save the ‘jewel in the crown’ – the Molong Railway Station which is falling into further disrepair.
With the completion of a new building later this year the Molong Library will vacate the Station. Recently Cabonne Council undertook a preliminary investigation into feasibility and costs associated with works required to make the building fit for a Tourist Information Centre or similar tourist facility such as a Cellar Door.
NEXT WEEK: Neglected? Forlorn? Long-Time Vacant? OPPORTUNITY?
