Cabonne Mayor Kevin Beatty has described the Country and Outback Regional Tourism Awards as an amazing acknowledgement of tourism in Cabonne after its four finalists received three gold awards and a silver.
Cr Beatty congratulated Lakeview Luxury Apartments near Mount Canobolas, Heifer Station Wines at Borenore and the Age of Fishes Museum at Canowindra, who all won gold, and the Canowindra International Balloon Challenge which received a silver award. “To have four finalists in the awards was a tremendous recognition of tourism in Cabonne, but to have all four do so well was an exceptional result,” he said.
Multiple regional award winners Lakeview Luxury Apartments received the gold award for Self-Contained Accommodation, while Heifer Station Wines won gold in the Tourism Wineries, Distilleries and Breweries category when the awards were presented in Orange on Saturday night. The Age of Fishes Museum was the gold award winner in the Specialised Tourism Services category, while the Canowindra International Balloon Challenge received the silver award in the hotly contested Festival and Events section behind the Parkes Elvis Festival.
“These awards are a fitting reward for the people who have worked extremely hard to make their businesses a success,” Cr Beatty said. “They recognise the high standard of professionalism and innovation the four recipients have shown in their field and their contribution to making Cabonne an increasingly popular tourism destination.” Cr Beatty wished the Cabonne winners further success at the NSW Tourism Awards in Sydney in November.
