Funding opportunities for regional communities

COMMUNITY groups across the region are being encouraged to apply for funding, with several grant opportunities opening or closing in coming weeks.

Local organisations, volunteer groups and community-led projects can access funding aimed at strengthening regional towns, supporting drought resilience and building stronger connections.

The ANZ Seeds of Renewal program opens on 1 July and supports projects that help create vibrant and sustainable rural communities. Applications will close on 30 July.

The Nutrien Community Grants Program will open on 7 July, providing support for projects that contribute to the success, wellbeing and future of rural and regional communities. Applications close on 6 August.

Regional funding remains a key issue for many small towns, with councils often unable to meet growing demands alone due to pressures including ageing infrastructure and increasing community needs.

Programs such as these aim to support locally driven solutions, allowing communities to identify what matters most and turn ideas into action.

Recent grant-funded projects across Australia have included community spaces, youth programs and initiatives designed to strengthen connection.

Regional organisations are encouraged to consider how funding opportunities could support local projects, from community facilities and events to resilience, wellbeing and environmental initiatives.

More information on both grant programs can be found on the Foundation for Regional Renewal website.
