Young entrepreneurs chase big dream

THREE Manildra siblings are proving you’re never too young to dream big, building a roadside stall to help raise money for a farm of their own.

Nine-year-old Noah Walder built the timber stall himself, while his sisters, seven-year-old Clara and five-year-old Lucy have been busy creating products to fill the shelves.

Together, they’re hoping every sale brings them one step closer to their goal.

“We want to buy a farm,” Noah said.

The idea began when Lucy suggested setting up a lemonade stand. Before long, the siblings had expanded the idea into a semi-permanent, mobile roadside stall, with Noah taking on the challenge of building it, with a little bit of guidance from his dad.

“It took maybe a week,” Noah said.

The Walder family moved to Manildra from Orange around three years ago after Noah’s father accepted a job at the local mill.

Noah said he enjoys woodworking, metalworking and welding with his dad and said he’d love a property where there was a big shed.

“Up the back we have a tiny shed, and we can barely fit in it,” he said.

As well as a shed, Noah also wants room for animals and lots of trees.

The stall already stocks handmade horseshoe hooks, kindling and eggs, with more creations from the siblings already in the making.

Although Noah admits they’re “not very close” to buying their dream farm yet, he’s already keeping his eye on local real estate.

Noah said his dream property would also have lots of room for animals and plenty of trees.

The stall is expected to be open most days, with every purchase helping turn one family’s dream into a reality.

The stall can be found on the corner of Molong and Whitton street at Manildra and an honesty box is available for payment.
