CABONNE residents are being reminded to take part in the upcoming national Census, which will be held on Tuesday, August 11, with officials saying every household plays a role in ensuring regional communities are properly counted.
The Census, run every five years by the Australian Bureau of Statistics collects key information about Australia’s population, including where people live, their age and housing.
Information collected also tracks changes in communities, for example, population growth or decline, ageing trends and shifts in housing and employment.
The data is used by government, councils and service providers to plan for things like hospitals, schools, roads, housing and community services.
Residents will be able to complete the Census online or request a paper form. Instructions will be sent out, prior to the Census date.
Participation is compulsory under Commonwealth Law.
