SNOW, flooding and strong winds swept across Cabonne this week, causing road closures and hazardous conditions for motorists across the region.
Snow was reported at Gaanha Bula Mount Canobolas, prompting the closure of the summit and several roads leading to the popular mountain destination.
Cabonne Council said the summit was closed due to snowfall, with Mount Canobolas Road closed from Old Canobolas Road to the summit, as well as Mitchells Way.
Towac Way was also closed between Glengariffe Road and Mount Canobolas Road.
Elsewhere, Kent Road at Mullion Creek was closed between Burrendong Way and Dalton Road due to flooding at the causeway.
The Bureau of Meteorology issued a damaging wind warning for parts of the Central Tablelands, with winds of 60 to 70km/h and gusts potentially reaching around 100km/h in exposed areas.
The warning was expected to ease below warning thresholds on Tuesday morning.
The wet and windy conditions also brought down a tree on Cullya Road at Clergate, with Council crews subsequently clearing the road.
Motorists were urged to remain alert to changing conditions, particularly on rural roads where flooding, fallen trees, debris and deteriorating road surfaces can create additional hazards.
Drivers were also reminded not to enter floodwater and to check road conditions before travelling.
Motorists travelling through the region should continue to check Live Traffic NSW for the latest information, particularly following periods of wet or windy weather.
Council continues to monitor road conditions across the shire, with closures and restrictions subject to changing weather and road conditions.
