DESPITE a brief rain spell, the Molong Show proved to be a resounding success, drawing large crowds for a day packed with rides, animals, food and entertainment.
Molong Show Society president Helen Crisp reflected on the fantastic turnout, noting that the ultimate highlight was seeing attendees depart with smiles on their faces.
“We only had a little bit of a start of bad weather, which lasted for no more than five minutes, but I think it was a huge success,” she said.
The new rides generated significant interest, particularly among teenage attendees, with a large swinging attraction called Infinity emerging as a major highlight of the day.
Additionally, stallholders experienced a successful day, while both the animal nursery and the reptile display maintained a consistent flow of visitors.
Inside the pavilion, visitors were treated to a strong collection of entries across the various categories.
Ms Crisp said there were plenty of impressive entries and some very worthy winners.
The CWA enjoyed a standout day as well, with members reportedly selling out of food to satisfy the appetite of eager showgoers.
Meanwhile, non-stop entertainment kept visitors engaged throughout the event, drawing widespread appreciation for both the stage performers and the bar.
“It was all a great day,” Ms Crisp said.
Ms Crisp said the Show Society won’t be taking a break just yet as their attention turns towards planning the 2027 event.
All going well, the committee hopes to welcome horses back to the showground next year while introducing fresh attractions to draw even bigger crowds.
Ms Crisp said the Society remains eager to investigate fresh avenues to offer visitors another compelling reason to attend the Molong Show.
Although a planning meeting for the committee is scheduled for the upcoming months, she welcomes anyone with suggestions or networks to reach out now.
“We would love to hear from you,” she said.
Specific areas of interest for the Society include introducing activities like quick shear or wood chopping competitions.
Community members possessing contacts or suggestions are invited to connect with the Molong Show Society via their Facebook page.
