ORGANISERS of the 125th Cudal Show have hailed this year’s event a resounding success, thanks to ideal spring weather on Sunday that brought out a strong crowd of locals and visitors alike.
“It went extremely well,” said Cudal Agricultural Pastoral Society president Chris Solomon. “There was an excellent turnout of locals and visitors.”
A wide range of stallholders set up to offer diverse goods, attracting attendees from across the region.
Inside the show’s pavilion, local talent was on full display with a wide selection of exhibits covering arts, crafts, gardening, cooking, flowers, and fresh vegetables.
Local schools made strong contributions to the event’s success as well.
Notably, the Cudal Preschool provided exhibits and assisted organisers with parents and guardians managing the entry gate.
Highlighting community-wide the effort behind the event, Mr Solomon emphasised that the dedication of the Cudal A&P Society committee was essential to making it all possible.
“We have a wonderful committee, and each of the committee people puts in a magnificent effort, and without them we have nothing,” he said.
“It’s something that they work all year for amongst trials and tribulations, and it all comes together in the end.”
Despite ongoing concerns regarding bird flu, the poultry display remained a major highlight, showcasing a strong turnout of ducks, chickens, and other birds.
“They were well represented with all manner of chooks, ducks, and all sorts of poultry,” Mr Solomon said.
Following strong turnout, ideal weather, and enthusiastic community support, organisers are already looking ahead to expanding on this success when the Cudal Show returns next year.
