THE Freemasons Hotel is inviting NRL fans to gather around the big screen this weekend for a grand final family fun day.
Starting at 3pm, the venue will broadcast two big games: the NRLW showdown between the Sydney Roosters and Brisbane Broncos, followed by the NRL Grand Final clash between the Roosters and Newcastle Knights.
John Moussa, owner of the Freemasons Hotel, said that the goal was to host a family-friendly afternoon where people could watch the footy while backing a worthy cause.
The fundraiser part of the day is supporting Stand With Jai, an effort assisting South Sydney Rabbitohs player Jai Arrow and his family following his motor neurone disease diagnosis.
To ensure everyone can catch the action, Mr Moussa said multiple viewing areas will be provided, featuring screens inside as well as an outdoor screen set up in the beer garden.
Along with the football coverage, a variety of entertainment is lined up for all ages throughout the afternoon, including raffles, face painting, children’s activities, a sausage sizzle, and balloons.
Attendees, including families and fans, are invited to wear their team gear or festive footy outfits, with special prizes awarded to the best dressed.
Guests can take advantage of happy hour drink specials running from 3pm to 4pm and 6pm to 7pm, alongside $6 chardonnay offered all day long.
At its heart, Mr Moussa said the gathering is designed to bring people together for an enjoyable day out while raising funds for Jai and his family.
The Grand Final family fun day will be held at the Freemasons Hotel in Molong on Sunday 4 October from 3pm.
