PLAYERS, fans, friends and family of the Canowindra Pythons got together last Saturday for the club’s annual presentation night.
Held at the club’s rooms, the evening saw the best of the best named for last season and while the Pythons might have seen their Oilsplus Cup run come to an end at the semi-finals stage at the hands of Yeoval, there was still much to celebrate.
Skipper and number 8 Dylan Slattery took home the dual awards of club Best and Fairest, as well as the Players’ Player title.
Rookie of the Year honours were shared between Josh Cooney and Cooper Scifleet, while Fernando Peroni was named Best Forward and Jonty Thurgate as Best Back.
The Coach’s Award went to scrum half Cayless Dunn and the Chris Noble Memorial Award to Tobi Fren.
Finally, Club Person of the Year honours were bestowed on Rach Arnott.
On social media organisers were quick to thank everyone involved in helping make the club successful.
“A huge thank you to the incredible people who work tirelessly behind the scenes,” they said.
“So much of what makes our club run smoothly happens away from the spotlight – from keeping things organised to making sure the boys can take the field each week.
“Your time, effort and commitment might not always be seen, but it certainly doesn’t go unnoticed. We’re incredibly grateful for everything you do for our club.
“We’re so proud of every single player, volunteer, and supporter who makes this club what it is. Here’s to another amazing year ahead for the Pythons!”
